You can apply for dispensation from paying toll on the A24/Blankenburg connection for the following organisations and vehicles:
- police (police vehicles)
- fire brigade (fire brigade vehicles)
- emergency medical services (ambulances)
- funeral directors (hearses)
In order to obtain dispensation, the vehicles must meet certain conditions.
What you need to know first
The following conditions apply to the vehicles.
- Hearse:
Used only for the transport of deceased persons and equipped for this purpose. (Cars in a funeral procession are not eligible for dispensation). - Ambulance:
Used only for the transport of sick and injured persons and equipped for this purpose. - Fire brigade and police vehicle:
Fire brigade vehicle is only used by the fire brigade and police vehicle is only used by the Police.
As long as your application for dispensation is pending, you will have to pay tolls. Applying for a dispensation is free of charge.
How to apply for dispensation
Here's how to apply for dispensation online for a vehicle with a Dutch registration number:
- Log in below via the 'Apply for dispensation' button with eHerkenning. Do you have a sole trader or a partnership? Then log in with DigiD.
- Fill in the requested information.
- Upload an authorisation or a statement of use if you need one (see 'You are not the owner or user of the vehicle').
- You can apply for up to 10 vehicles at the same time. If you want to apply for more than 10 vehicles, you must start a new application.
- Once we have received your application, you will receive an automatic e-mail.
- We will review your application. Within 5 working days you will receive an e-mail from us with a link to the decision.
You are not the owner or user of the vehicle
In these cases, you must provide additional information when applying for the dispensation. Please note that both situations may apply to you.
The vehicle is not registered to your name
Are you applying for the dispensation, but you are not the owner or keeper of the vehicle? In that case, you need a mandate from the owner or keeper of the vehicle. With this mandate, the owner or keeper declares that they authorise you to apply for dispensation.

The vehicle is not registered to the name of the user
Are you applying for the dispensation, but you are not the person using the vehicle? For example, because you have a leasing company or you manage a fleet? In that case, you need a statement of use from the user (police, fire brigade, emergency medical service or funeral directors). This statement must show that this user is using the vehicle.
